Soon after George Clinton descended from the sky on his mothership and brought the funk to them maggotbrains and funkateers worldwide as being the godfather of funk, the hip-hop in us felt it has to be fused with the funky sounds, grooves, and soulful colours. So we hooked up with the “ryders” in order to make some funky music for groovy cats like y’all, here is the first funk, entitled “In Effect” (the original version on Fresh Sly’s “Don’t Sell Your Soul” 2008 album)

“Bumrush Da Basement!” Tracklist

We announce the “Bumrush Da Basement!” album on its last retouches.
So there you go, the words you’ve been waiting for: The album is READY!

You already heard “Everyday Thang” as the first single, now we’re about to drop a new one pretty soon. From circa 50 initially written songs, (8 of them were previously released on “Rebirth”) 14 gems reached the final cut. The vibe is really obscure, a jazzy one, something like a late autumn rainy day. And plus: we’ve started to work on this “Bumrush Da Basement!” album during autumn 2008, so it really gave it a soulful dark atmo.

Be sure not to miss its release, check us at least weekly for updates, and remember: the final album versions differ a lot from the “drafts” you might have on your PC or iPod.

More details: Sly is in the studio handling the mastering process and BNT is currently working on some lyrics, recently back from Germany. We want to bring you the finest flavor on this album, so every single week in the work process is worth of it, trust us, we’re on the right way, and we will deliver the album soon as we will feel it’s ready.
